Temuulen Mendbileg ’25 has emerged as one of the top high school wrestlers to watch in New Jersey this year. The standout grappler made a name for himself last season with an impressive 31-5 record, cementing his status as a rising star in North Jersey’s competitive wrestling scene.
Mendbileg’s breakout moment came at the Essex County Tournament, where he showcased his skill and determination by claiming the championship title. His dominance didn’t stop there, as he continued to notch several wins over ranked opponents in the weeks leading up to the postseason. His stellar campaign culminated in a fifth-place finish at the state level in the highly competitive 175-pound weight class.
This season, Mendbileg and his team will kick off their campaign with a tournament at James Caldwell High School on December 14th. His hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed by his coach, Harry Turner, who remarked, “Temu had a tremendous season in 23-24, and we’re excited to watch him build off of that heading into this year. He has put an impressive amount of work into this offseason period and will continue to make us proud.”
With continued support from his team, Mendbileg aims to build on his impressive accomplishments and solidify his place among the state’s elite wrestlers.
