St. Benedict’s Prep celebrated a thrilling swim meet yesterday against Montclair Kimberly Academy. The boys team secured a commanding 102-66 victory, while the girls team faced a tough challenge, falling 99-36. For the boys, standout performances included Ismael Rivera ’25 taking first in the 200 Free, John Patrick Martinko ’26 winning the 50 Free, Jaylon Hart ’27 claiming first in the 100 Free, and the team dominating the 200 Free Relay. Jonathan Martinez ’25 also excelled with a first-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke. On the girls’ side, Mayra Lopez ’26 earned second place in the 100 Free, while Celine Argueta ’26 claimed a strong victory in the 100 Breaststroke. Both teams showcased resilience and determination and look forward to continuing their progress in upcoming meets.

- 200 Free: ISMAEL RIVERA ’25 finished first with a time of 2:13.36.
- 50 Free: JOHN PATRICK MARTINKO ’26 finished first with a time of 0:25.64.
- 100 Free: JAYLON HART ’27 claimed first with a time of 0:59.23.
- 200 FR: WILLIAM MARTINKO ’27, JONATHAN MARTINEZ ’25, GIOVANNI DA SILVA ’25 and ANTHONY ISIN ’25 took first with a time of 1:51.82.
- 100 Breaststroke: JONATHAN MARTINEZ ’25 finished first with a time of 1:20.78.
- 400 FR: JOHN PATRICK MARTINKO ’26, ISMAEL RIVERA ’25, ANTHONY ISIN ’25 and JAYLON HART ’27 took first with a time of 3:59.70.
Girls Swimming
- 100 Free: MAYRA LOPEZ ’26 took second place with a score of 1:14.93.
- 100 Breaststroke: CELINE ARGUETA ’26 took first with a time of 1:28.82.
FROM THE POOL
Ismael Rivera ’25 achieved a personal record (PR) in the 500 Freestyle, bringing him closer to qualifying for counties. Throughout the meet, our swimmers displayed resilience while cheering each other on every step of the way.
