The St. Benedict’s Prep wrestling team delivered a solid performance at the Caldwell Wrestling Tournament this weekend, securing a fifth-place finish out of ten participating schools. The event showcased the team’s depth and individual brilliance, highlighted by an outstanding performance from senior standout Temu Menobileg ’25 at 175 pounds.
Individual Highlights:
126 lbs – Buja Batmunkh ’27 displayed resilience throughout the tournament clinching a commendable third place.
132 lbs – Merlin Dilone ’25 earned a third-place finish. His tactical acumen and grit proved crucial in close bouts.
150 lbs – Devon Gilmore ’25 finishing fourth in his bracket. Despite narrowly missing out on the podium, his effort was a testament to his hard work and perseverance.
175 lbs – Temu Mendbileg ’25 was the star of the tournament for the Gray Bees taking 1st place. His stellar performance earned him the prestigious Outstanding Wrestler Award. Temu’s crowning moment came in the finals against Kittatinny, where he scored a decisive takedown at the buzzer in a tie match to secure victory.
215 lbs – Togi Bayarkhuu ’28 rounded out the individual podium finishes for the Gray Bees, securing third place with his impressive strength and agility.
